So, in midweek Arsenal secured an historic win in the Champions League, away at last season's beaten finalists in a crucial group game. Aaron Ramsey, prolific this season, won the game with a diving header. So how did Arsenal do this, and what does it mean to their season?
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger got his tactics spot on. Centre-backs Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny were excellent, and stopped Dortmund's forward line extremely effectively. They then, as Arsenal do, attacking on the counter attack. This plan worked excellently, with Ramsey scoring with Arsenal's first shot.
This win will be an excellent platform for Arsenal to continue their strong run of form, after also beating Liverpool, the Premier League's third-placed team, 2 - 0 on Saturday. They play the champions Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, and if they win there they will surely be firm favourites for the title.
